Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow !

5/2/2012

Some lovely snowy updates tonight with Edward & Roxy. Edward has been out & meet his first snow with Dawn saying he has loved it & has rolled in it, eaten it & skidded on it. Edward has become a part of the family & is a fast learner & a pleasure to have around the house. He certainly looks a star & has rather a cheeky look on his face in the photo of him wearing his dapper coat.
Roxy has been out in the snow & although it might not be the first snow for her as she was born last year with snow on the ground I think it might be her first that she is old enough to go out & play in it. Thanks for the updates & very sweet photo's.
Spencer left us yesterday & is now settling into his new home. Henry who leaves tomorrow for his new home. We will have Belle, Toby & Jessica to work on now getting then leading & learning them basic commands.
Took a little video of Belle out in the little snow we have had which is now gone. Belle was running around like a nutter with Dad Reggie so I ran & got the camera to catch this very funny moment & as you will see in the video I just caught the tail end !

Roxy has been as mad as a March Hare! Running around like a complete nutter loving every minute of her very first snow! Roxy has been so funny, the only dog so far that I have actually seen barking at the snow lol. Like Edward she has got up to all sorts. We have had a good 8 to 10 inch's I must say it has looked very pretty indeed. I dont know how much truth is in it but more is supposed to be on the way Friday so the dog walkers tell me this morning. I must say Dawn Edward looks a real little cracker. How is he eating now? Have you tried him with Apple & Carrot as treats yet?

Best Wishes

Tracey xx :-)

Hi Jane, Here is the Bella report:- She is mad, she is a thief, she plays non stop, she helps with household chores i.e. sorting the dirty washing, she is brill with her toilet training, she is fast, she is a pig with her food, it doesn't touch the sides, she walks well sometimes but loves to jump on Bob's head and mess about, causing the motorists to laugh and applaud when she sits at the crossing (eventually) she now travels well after a very noisy few weeks, she undertook her first long journey since being collected and taken to Buckinhamshire where we live, when we went to see our daughter and husband in Dorset who had just returned from Australia with our grandchildren. We camped overnight on Thursday (very cold) in our camper van, she slept very well and was no trouble at all. As animals are not allowed in the house they are renting both dogs had to spend a lot of the time in a BIG crate but had a reward of a walk along the beach. Bella takes everything in her stride can be very naughty and loves being chased. Bella adores the snow and has taken to crunching the ice off the bird baths. She brings trophies from the garden and walks inside, so a mouth check is essential frequently. All in all she is a star and a pleasure to be tired out by............
Regards
Margaret

Hi Margaret, thanks for telling as that Spencer's crying in the car will eventually stop. He is absolutely adorable but I do find the crying quite upsetting. Looking forward to the weeks ahead when we can get out and about and give him lots of experience of the big wide world. Delighted that you are having such fun with Bella. Keep us posted. Regards Trish

Hi Tracey,
Edward is eating really well now. We have tried him with the carrot and apple and he loves both - if you give him carrot he runs off with it and saves it for later! We have cut down on a lot of his treats now ,as we don't reward him every time he goes to the toilet outside - he can be trusted to go out on his own and have a play and do his business! Saying that he had put 1kg in two weeks when he was weighed by the Vet - she wasn't concerned as she said he had a lot of skin to grow into! Maybe he will turn out to be on the larger side for a cavapoo?
Most of the snow has gone now here but what is left is frozen solid. He is having great fun running around with chunks of ice in his mouth!

Hello Dawn,
Bailey is now 11.2kg which is quite big for a cavapoo, however his parents were a good size (Lucy and Rollo). I think Edward is lovely and will probarbly get away with alot. I know Bailey does!!!
Regards Sue.
