We hope to have pups on the way

Casper is the lucky guy to be partnered with Blottie for her next litter, which all going well, will be here sometime around the 6th to the 10th March 2019. I think this pairing will give us some lovely small spaniel type pups being  3/4 Cavalier and 1/4 Brittany. I would be surprised if we have anything other than Blenheim (orange and white), although Casper's  Mum is tricoloured.
Once we have her hopefully confirmed in pups, we will put it up on the website. Hope to scan her any time from the 4th February 2019.

Scan booked

Blottie is booked for her pregnancy scan on Monday, 4th February at 5.30 pm. Although manipulating her stomach now, I'm pretty sure she is pregnant. The scan will though make sure it is pups that I can feel.

Blottie confirmed in pups

My diagnoses by palpation was confirmed by my vet scanning Blottie this evening, and she is carrying another good sized litter. The vet conservatively said, "At least 6." I'm considering from what I saw, that it might be closer to 8 pups at least. Even the vet commented on her looking further on than she is, but with only 4 days between first to last mating, she can't be much further on than 4 weeks.
I took Blottie's last cardiologist heart check certificate along for my GP vet to take a look at. He was very interested, and asked if I minded if he took a listen to her heart. I told him that the cardiologist vet said, "This type of murmur can come and go." He could not hear a thing. Starting now to get a bit excited about this litter, tinged as usual with concern that we get Mum, Blottie through it safe and sound.
A bitches gestation is around 9 weeks, smaller dogs tend to have a slightly shorter gestation. A bitch can whelp (give birth) anytime from around 58 days gestation, and the pups should be viable. Blottie was mated over 5 days on the 2nd February to the 6th February, so pups should arrive anytime around the 6th March to the 10th March. Her last litter she was mated over 4 days, and she gave birth 61 days from her first mating, and 58 days from her last mating. Both times she had her first mating on the 12 day of her heat. This could suggest with her carrying a good size litter again, we may have pups anytime from the 4th March.

I have suggested to some visiting before the litter is on the ground, and I'm sorry, but I'm going to keep to what is up on the website page Getting A Puppy From Poundlane. I don't mind anyone at this stage wanting to have a chat, but I want to sit back now and enjoy Blottie blossoming and getting her through the birth.
