The POUNDLANE Spaniel
Breeding for health and function
I am a hobby breeder living in the beautiful Taw Valley, North Devon, England, United Kingdom, coming from a working background with dogs and have been around and involved with Cavaliers for nearly forty years. With many years of hands on experience in breeding not only dogs, but horses, sheep, pigs and cattle (working in the Dairy industry for over thirty years). Our breeding program purpose is to breed a healthier type small spaniel similar to the Cavalier King Charles spaniel in temperament, regaining their sporting aptitude with a healthier less extreme phenotype by crossbreeding, utilizing my many years of knowledge gained through watching and being involved in pure and crossbreeding of dogs and other species. We don't breed to waiting lists, fashion or for rosettes. We breed for dogs that can function in the world around them, with temperaments and physical attributes which lend them to be trained for most situations. They make firstly great companion dogs (with dogs we have bred being used as assistance dogs, and helping children in schools), family dogs, and working dogs. Would also excel at dog sports such as obedience and agility.
POUNDLANE Teagol is the bringing together of ten years of crossbreeding to improve health and type of the Cavalier King Charles spaniel. Bringing together our two Cavalier crossed lines. Teagol is 5/8 Cavalier, 1/4 Brittany and 1/8 Poodle (miniature). Born two weeks before Christmas 2017. She is a small athletic type spaniel, and retains the gentle loving nature of the Cavalier. Her Mum is Blottie and Dad is Ernest.
POUNDLANE Lottie is Teagol's Mum's sister Bumble's daughter with Ernest also being her Dad. So like Teagol, she is 5/8 Cavalier, 1/4 Brittany and 1/8 Poodle (miniature). Born the beginning of March 2018. She is a bit bigger than Teagol, but still remains an athletic type spaniel, and retains the gentle loving nature of the Cavalier just like Teagol.
