Tonight I have some lovely photo's of Albert aka Albie who is from are last litter of Cavapoos & who's Mum is Lucy & Dad is my sister's Miniature Poodle Rollo. Albie is now 7 months old & Kim sent me a lovely message with gorgeous photo's of Albie. The message reads as follows "Albert is doing well he has found a new passtime- Swimming! He loves the water, he swims for sticks in the stream along the Tarka Trail, the river at Appledore & the sea at Northam Burrows. He looks half the size when wet! We adore him & get so much fun from him, we have found places to walk that we did'nt know exsisted even though we have been here for 20yrs now! Albie loves to play with other dogs & has even won our cat Merlin around! The cat lets him lick his ears & face! They chase each other & the cat jumps out at Albie! Thanks Kim for this vivid picture you have painted of Albie's character. You have done Albie proud, with him being your first dog ever. You took time & care choosing a pup & are now putting in the time & energy to bring up Albie to be a very happy & balanced individual adult dog. Photo's below are of Albie & I think you will see his artful character in each one. Its been a little while since I last blogged & as we start July & are now over half way through 2011. I have been getting lots of updates from are pups families & older dogs we have rehomed this year. We also have Lucinda back as a house guest for two weeks as Sue & husband had a holiday booked when they took on Lucinda from us a month ago, so she has come back for the two weeks & is happily snoring away on the sofa now. Lucinda has settled well into her new home & no doubt will be very excited to see Sue & Jim on their return. Angela & Rob have also recently sent me an email to say how well Bobby has been getting on who is the beautiful tricoloured Cavalier boy we had who unfortunately was not very interested in the girls. Angela has just recently lost their cat who was 18 years old & although Bobby can not replace him Angela has been glad of the cuddles with Bobby who was very good with her cat. Bobby has settled in well & is improving at eating which he was never over enthusiastic about but "now wags his tail when he sees his food coming instead of looking at me like I'm expecting too much of him." says Angela. Thanks for the update Angela & Rob. The next updates are from five of are Cavapoo's born last year firstly is Alfie who's Mum is Lucy & Dad is my sister's Miniature Poodle Rollo. Alfie is nearly 11 months old & is a real looker with Vanessa when on walks with Alfie taking twice as look to get any where from people stopping them & asking about Alfie & smoothing him. Vanessa has sent me two cute photo's of him in his favourite spot in the house his window sill as all the better to watch everyone from. Thanks Vanessa for your update & photo's of Alfie who grows more handsome by the day. Little Poppy says "Hello !" with Debbie having just had her spayed & as Poppy got bigger it became then apparent that she had a very small umbilical hernia which was routinely repaired whilst she was spayed. Debbie said all is well after the operation & it is now just hard stopping Whirlwind Poppy Plater from being to active. Poppy is from Lucy's litter & is now nearly 7 months old being the sister to the next two pups I have updates on. Thanks for letting me know how you all are Debbie. Roxy who is Little Poppy's sister has also just been spayed & Tracey reports she is doing fine & like Poppy it is just trying to stop them being to active which is the hardest thing after the operation. Tracey has also sent me some lovely photo's of Roxy just after having her stitches removed. Thanks Tracey for the update & photo's of your pretty girl. Lastly we have updates on Big Poppy & Kym. Big Poppy is Little Poppy's & Roxy's sister. Kym is Alfie's sister & both these girls photo's where in are local paper last week "The North Devon Journal" as they are both being trained as "Dogs Helping Kids". These are dogs that have been chosen as good tempered & easy to train to work with children with behavioural problems & go into school to meet children to promote the unique bond children can have with a dog & show how dogs can teach non violence, empathy, respect, kindness, love, responsibility, friendship & trust. Gill said that she was so proud when Kym was chosen to train for this by the instructor Tracey & her other Cavapoo boy Alfie was offered a place too but Alfie who was from are first ever litter of Cavapoo's, she felt it would be hard to fit in training both Cavapoo's for this & with Kym being the more submissive decided to let her be trained for this very important role. Well done Gill ! Both your Cavapoo's being asked to go on the course is a testament to your care & love in rearing Alfie & Kym. Toni's Big Poppy who has also been chosen to be trained for this very important role has shown that she is very easily trained & loves children. Toni also sent me some lovely photo's of Big Poppy who is growing into a stunning little girl. The Big bit that I use in front of her name is because we had two Poppy's in the litter & you guessed it she was bigger than Little Poppy. Toni has done such a brilliant job with Poppy & it makes me feel very proud to see these crossbreed dogs showing that they have the apptitude, temperment & love to be helpful to others. Well done Toni like Gill being chosen to train Big Poppy for this role is testament to your care & love in rearing your special girl. All of are dogs are fine but having a bit of angst at the moment with Primrose at nearly 11 months old coming on heat for the first time, so she & her best mate Reggie are having to be kept apart as Primrose is to young & Reggie is very eager at nearly 7 months old to prove himself a man.lol. Its a bit of a juggling act & some sorryful whimpering by Reggie but hopefully another few days & past the danger. We have decided that we will breed from Ysabel next as she will be due on heat within the next month. Due to not being able to buy a suitable Cavalier Stud dog or find a suitable Stud dog to use locally for are dogs in the near future we will at the moment breed just Cavapoo's, so are next two hopeful litter's will be from Ysabel closely followed by Dolly. I know this may disappoint some who are waiting for my next Cavalier litter but this might change if a Cavalier suitable boy appears on the horizon before Dolly comes on heat. So fingers crossed ! Please enjoy the lovely photo's below of Alfie, Roxy & Big Poppy. |
