Reggie seems nearly back to full health. He has finished the antibiotics, is eating and drinking with no vomiting and is getting back to his full playful self again. Thanks every one for emails and comments on wishing Reggie a quick recovery.
Yesterday saw Ysobel's pups reach eight weeks old and the vet visited to check them over and to start the their primary course of vaccinations and to get them microchipped. All went well and only a few whimpers as they had their injections.
Last night got this footage of the pups having fun with our oldest child Bert. Olive is having a right old time and slightly sticks out in the video. The youngest dogs are banished to the kitchen as you will see whilst the pups have out and about time in the home, as the juvenile dogs can get a bit to boisterous with pups this size. The old dogs just tell the young pups off, giving them a valuable lesson in dog etiquette, not every dog wants a pup in their face.

Now  news of things going on at Poundlane with the rest of the pack. Treacle who we kept from Dolly's litter is going on great, seeming fearless and Henry and her have become great friends and its funny to watch her tearing after him and when he gets a bit to much she knows that he can't get in a lot of places she can, so a quick dive under the car or behind the sofa when playing keep her out of Henry harm.
Treacle's Mum has decided to try and catch us out and has come on heat six months since her last heat, with all her other litters she has taken seven months before coming on heat again. Dolly will be spayed now in around three months time and become a grand old lady of Poundlane like Millie.
We have decided that on Smudge's next heat we will mate her with Reggie. Her next heat is due around December 2013, was thinking about leaving her until her heat in 2014 but the next heat would push the litter onto Christmas.
Yesterday when the our vet was here doing the pups she also checked her heart and no murmur could be heard by the vet, so she will now be booked up in the next month or so to go and visit the Cardiologist vet. Always let the GP vet check them before going to the Cardiologist vet, as if they have an easily audible murmur to my vet theirs really little point to the Cardiologist vet examining them.
We also then will book Smudge in for the MRI scan and will take Primrose along as well, maybe Belle and Toby depending on timing. We will get all MRI scanned but its working the logistics to do it, being that its a reasonable journey to Bristol to get it done and working school drop offs and pick ups, dogs and our work takes some juggling.
There's also a trip down to Tavistock to get annual eye tests done for Smudge and Reggie but will hope to tag a few more in on that trip. Other litters for 2014 we are looking at is Jessica (yet to put her on The Girls page, but she's in the blog and is Toby's sister) with Reggie being f1's 50% Cavalier, 50% Poodle, Belle with Toby producing f1b's being 3/4 Cavalier, 1/4 Poodle.
Then lastly we might look at putting Primrose with Henry. Henry is our Brittany and will be hip scored (hips are done at one years and over) but if Primrose's heat falls before he is over one years old, we might have to revise this and wait until Primrose's next heat putting this litter close on Christmas. This is obviously just our preliminary look at litters for 2014. Most will know that I have been trying to find a suitable dog food for the pack since leaving the Breeder Club at Royal Canin because of their sponsership of Bear baiting events in the Ukraine. Now I looked around and firstly went with Eden, which I had seen rave reviews about but also was aware of some saying it just did not agree with their dogs. Eden is a 80% meat dry food, so a lot more meat than other dry food products and a premium dry dog food. I have had a mixed bag response with feeding it to our dogs and our first litter reared on it. The problem is loose stools with some and I have had two people from our last litter report that they have had problems with loose stools on this food, which normally we might get the occasional report of a puppy with loose stools but not two on one litter and with a couple of our dogs not seeming to be able to adjust to this volume of meat in their diet I have decided to try another product, in fact two products. I have the adult dogs on Millies Wolfheart which is 60% meat 40% which I have been feeding now for two weeks and all solid on it. Ysobel and her pups have finished of a bag of Royal Canin starter I had before leaving Royal Canin and which has been mixed with Lily's Kitchen Puppy dry food and is a premium dry food. The pups are now on Lily's Kitchen fully and all poo is solid and they seem to be thriving on it. So at this time pups will be reared on Lily's Kitchen and adult dogs on Millies Wolfheart. I'm not in a hurry to join any Dog food company Breeder Clubs, although they give discounts for membership, the rules of membership make you their bitch, so to speak. Lol
Sorry for any confusion to people who have just had pups from me as they might feel that they have been guinea pigs but transitioning onto a different food for dogs, especially a pack can take time and a little tweeking to get it right for all of the pack. Eden I still think is a good dry dog food but not for all and that really goes for all dog foods, as they say, one mans meat is another mans poison.
All the rest of the pack are well and the last couple nights have got some nice photo's of the pack chilling out together. Look out for the well trained husband. You should see his sit and roll over, he'll do any thing for a good old tummy rub. Lol
Nearly forgot. I have got behind on emails and will hope to get back to every one in the next few days. I do try to reply every one. Thanks in advance for your patience.

Reggie came home this afternoon. He has improved and the mass has reduced by about 1cm and was actually 3.8 cm across not 2 cm as reported before and the vet told me on the phone 2 cm which I thought was not so big but today I saw the scan and the measurement was on the scan. The vet must of had a long day when she told me 2 cm.
Reggie was really pleased to see me and we had to have a couple minutes embracing each other bfore the vet could show me the x-ray and scan. He's not totally out of the woods yet and we just have to give him lots of tlc, finish he's antibiotics and hopefully he will be back to full Reggie power in a few days but if he starts to look like he is relapsing then its back to the vets and we might be looking a surgery.
So tonight is just for Reggie fans. When we come home I got a few photo's of Reggie and then tryed to take one of us together and you will see my arms ain't quite long enough, so our oldest son took some of  Reggie and me reunited.
Can not understate what a lovely boy Reggie is and his temperament shows in the way he is a family dog and brilliant stud dog. The fact that he has such good social skills is what makes him such a hit with the children and the ladies and will now add vets to that list. The last couple days with him away the saying, you don't always realise what you have got until its not there comes to mind. Its been a long weekend with out him.
 I have been milking all this weekend and on Saturday having to leave him in the vets I didn't sleep so well and on Sunday morning milking, in the second row of 8 cows I had a fresh calved cow who's milk I had to keep out and whilst waiting for the cow to finish the other side of the parlour, to swing the cluster over to milk her, I nipped out to fill a syringe with antibiotics for another cow I had to inject (they are at the start of their Autumn block calving at the moment), when I returned for some reason I thought I had milked her and this would mean I had contaminated milk already in the tank, thankfully I had only milked 8 cows and the milk pick up had been the evening before, so decided to dump the milk and flush the system and start again, so put about 160 litres of milk down the drain, which is better than paying for a milk test as the value of the milk was about £50. To test the milk would of cost around £15 and you would of had to milk the rest of the cows into the tank before they would get to test it and risk contaminating a couple thousand litres of milk, so took the excutive decision to dump the milk . Got the machine up and running again to proceed with milking, to return to the parlour to release the row of cows and then realised I had not milked her, as I could see she was running with milk and her udder was still tight, so I dumped perfectly good milk and when I saw the farmer I milk for later on I explained the demeanour and he just said, "don't worry these things happen" and a little later his wife also said , "not to worry I expect you are worried about your dog." Luckily I work for good people who appreciate we all make mistakes occasionally and I had on Saturday morning without warning had been roped into helping sort out 30 yearling steers and heffers going off to market before I started milking without a murmur. I'm pretty good in the parlour, rarely make a mistake and in 26 years of relief milking can count on one hand the amount of times I have contaminated milk in the tank but I guess I was away with the fairies or more likely with the Reggie.
Lastly the title of the blog tonight, Lean on me, is also a song by Bill Withers and if I had to compile a top 10 of songs this one would be in it. I got introduced to the music of Bill Withers at school when us girls used to for physical education do a thing called Pop mobility. Remember that ? A relic from the Victorian era. It was hilarious as we had to stand in rows doing exercise in time to music but one of the teachers used to play Lovely Day by Bill Withers and when this track came on, as the teacher passed me I would free dance and make sniggers start amongst the other girls and the teacher would sharply turn around but I would be back in line in time with everyone else, she never caught me. Its cruelty to make you dance in line to Lovely Day. Now I'm off to let Reggie lean on me.

Ysobel's pups are now over seven weeks old and on Wednesday they will be eight weeks old and will be microchipped and start their primary course of vaccinations. These are real teddy bears and want to be out and about now if not sleeping.

Things have been a little worrying this weekend with our Reggie not being well. Yesterday I noticed he was just not himself in the morning and took his temperature and it was okay, so thought I would keep an eye on him but he then drunk some water and brought it right back up which then prompted me to get him to the vets. He has not had any diarrhea.
At the vets it was decided that he should be x-rayed as he was showing obvious discomfort on palpation of his abdomen. The x-ray showed a round mass about 2 cm in width, so then on scanning it is thought to be an inflamed gallbladder. He has stayed in the vets since I took him yesterday morning and has been on intravenous fluids and antibiotics and anti inflammatories. I spoke to the vet midday today and not much improvement but tonight at 8 pm she rang to tell me he seems to of turned a corner and has eaten, wagging his tail and some how every time she leaves the room she comes back to find he has opened his pen door and is sitting by the door waiting for her. She said, "Reggie's a bit clever, I've never known any other dog able to undo these pens."
Bloods have been done showing liver is okay and kidneys. Reggie will be scanned again tomorrow to see if mass is reducing and if so I think we can presume it is the gallbladder inflamed. No sign of any stones in mass and if not reduced there is a possibilty it might be a foreign object, as Reggie does like chewing up things and small bouncey ball of our children's is unaccounted for. Reggie has had no bile in his vomiting or had a temperature or any jaundice, so not 100% sure at the moment if gallbladder yet.
One thing I've never had with a dog is a problem with the gallbladder, so new territory for me, so have asked the vet if this would anything to worry about with him being used as a breeding dog and she said, if it is the gallbladder inflamed this quickly and no stones it is most likely a bacterial infection not a genetic problem.
Reggie is a star and I'm sure he will soon be fighting fit again. This is the first time Reggie at nearly three has had any sort of illness, he has not even ever had an ear infection, which is pretty common place with Poodle or even ever a dodgy stomach.
Certainly there's a space here tonight where Reggie fills but he's in the best place for him at this time and lets hope he's home tomorrow. By the sounds of it, how he's opened the pen door they better not let him get his paws on any car keys, else he might come home on his own steam.lol. Reggie is a very smart dog !

hope all is well your end and that Molly loves being at 'big school'! We continue to have lots of fun with our dear Dotty-she is so tolerant of the children (their slightly clumsy handling and Barbara Woodhouse impressions!) and loving and playful-a real joy to have in our family! She loves to make friends-both human and canine-and so many people have commented on her friendliness and sweet nature.  She LOVES walks with doggy playmates, even if they are four times her size!  We start training on Sunday-but I know that's for us rather than her, as she is so keen to please-a real gem!

Sorry it’s been such a long time since I’ve been in touch! Where does time go? I’ve attached some photos of Barney so you can see what a handsome fella he is now!! (and of course I tell him this everyday while giving him a million kisses!!) One of the photos is where he attended a Charity fun dog show and as you will see, won many rosettes and I was the proudest Cavapoo Mummy in the world!! Barney had his first camping holiday in August and loved every minute of it!! He settled straight away in the tent but soon found his favourite spot was very close to the cooker J And lets just say that some Ham went missing….. JI’ve just managed to have a quick catch up on your blog and see that Barney’s mum Lucy is no longer with you and gone to a new family, is she ok? And how is adorable Rolo doing ? Hope all is well with you and you enjoy Barneys pics.

Hi Jane! Just a quick email to let you know about our little family. Darcy now has a baby sister and has taken to her like a mother! She is so gentle and affectionate with her it's lovely. She is still mischievous but has calmed down a lot in the 9 weeks since baby arrived. Darcy likes being close to her as you can see by this picture and especially likes licking her feet! She still is very spoilt by everyone but is a lot better at listening now! Cannot believe she has been with us only a year, it feels like we have had her forever. Darcy still loves other doggys and I'm sure would like a friend to play with, although our hands are full at the moment!

Now an update on Ysobel's Cavapoo pups who are today 6 weeks and 5 days old. The pups are all growing well and are really up for adventures now. Bruiser Bailey is a bit of a thug with his siblings but is a very gentle fellow when handled by us. Charlie Titch is a ball of fun and a bit of a licker like Dad Reggie, up for play and hanging off your trouser leg. Dexter Dolittle has the curlest tail and likes attacking your feet especially licking your toes, he to is a licker. Olive Oil is the only girl, so naturally she is a bit of a Tom boy and happily adventures on her own, she also is a bit of a licker.
They all love the children and first stop when waking up or coming home from school for our children is the puppy pen.

I must get on and write up soon about me leaving the Kennel Club Assured scheme, I have not forgot, just need to muster the energy for the rant. I know one thing for sure, I don't expect to be on Mr Lambert's Christmas card list this year.Lol.
Also having had Jessica, Primrose and Belle just gone off heat, we can now start giving an idea of the litters we hope to breed in 2014 soon. 
Lastly. In our home we don't have a naughty step, we have a cheeky pen. This is Treacle's bedroom which she shares with her Mum Dolly until big enough to sleep with the adult dogs at night in the back house. Henry and Treacle are best mates but because of the size difference and age we are careful at the moment that they are not left together unsupervized.

All children back at school today, very weird coming home to an almost silent home, so finally found the time to get on with a blog. I started the blog around 11 am this morning but the computer decided to play up, so I tackled it again at 2 pm and was able to get a couple videos done and edit photo's and then load them up on the website and then have to pick children up from school.
The last week has been busy with pups on the ground and getting the children ready to go back to school. Our youngest has now started fulltime education, so for the first time in thirteen years five days a week between 9 am to 3.30pm I am childless. People jokingly have said to me, "What are you going to do with yourself ?" My reply is , "I'm going to do all the things I normally do but uninterrupted." That was the hardest thing when I first had children the realisation that things take longer when someone cannot wipe their own bum. Lol
The last pup of Dolly's to leave us left on Friday finally ! I say  "finally !", as we had a couple false starts before the Cutland family could finally fly over from Jersey to pick her up. Last Wednesday was arranged to pick her up and Andy was flying into an airstrip at Eggesford just up the road from us in a friends private light aircraft but due to fog on the coast the flight was not worth the risk, so Andy and Lynne had to console their children and a flight looked possible for Friday, arriving around midday at Eggesford.
Friday arrived and also arrived the news that the original pilot booked would not fly again due to a risk of a thunder storm but Andy did not give up and he found someone willing to fly him into Exeter Airport at around 5.30 pm, so finally at around 6 pm I arrived at Exeter Airport with Molly and Molly took flight.
Two of our children came with me to deliver Molly to Exeter Airport and we waited and watched Molly depart into the sky but just before that an Easyjet went past and took off and it did worry me that Molly might of been frightened by this, as so loud and as the light aircraft took off I felt a little emotional worrying that it might be very stressful for her and it was the first time I had watched one of our pups leave us in this fashion.
Molly on the car trip to Exeter and in the airport before boarding had appeared to be taking it all in her stride and when walking back to the car the lady who seemed to be orginising the private flying part of the airport remarked that how relaxed the puppy seemed, saying, "as most pups when they get to the airport are already very stressed before even flying."  
We use Adaptil now when pups are leaving us and spray it on bedding a couple days before leaving and then spray it on snuggle toys and in Molly's case towels that where used in the car for her whilst travelling, that towel then went with her on the flight to Jersey and I do think it really helps to keep them calmer and also the fact that we gave her a good play before leaving and as they go into sleep mode you then get travelling.
Exeter is about fifty miles from us and I think Andy made it home with Molly before I got home, as I noticed a miss call from them when I came home, so ramg them to make sure Molly was okay and found out that Molly had been very good and had slept most the journey through the air to Jersey and since have recieved this email,

Hi Jane,

As promised a quick update on how Molly is doing.

She is doing absolutely brilliantly. Yesterday evening after flying into Jersey she had a good sniff around the ground floor, drank some water, had a little food played with the children then fell asleep. She cried for about 10 minutes when we went to bed and dimmed the lights but then she slept through to 6.30

A quick visit outside produced a wee then breakfast was consumed and a poo followed. A good sniff around the 1st floor then it was off to watch Alfie play football for his school. After a couple minutes from getting out of the car she was loving being able to investigate the great outdoors. A meeting with a small 5 year old male dog produced perfect behaviour.

She is such a credit to you and your family. She has settled in so well. She loves playing with the children and is equally happy lying on our laps having her tummy tickled. She has the most lovely character. She has taken a particular liking to Alfie's slippers and keeps burying them away in her bed.

So to sum up, things have gone far better than we could have ever imagined and this is in no doubt down to the way you have brought her up. We have had quite a few visitors today (not all invited but somehow just managed to turn up on Molly's first day here!) and they have all commented on just how chilled she is.

Thanks so much for everything, we are loving having her as a member of our family. Already, we couldn't imagine life without her.

Just a little note to say how our first week has gone, Darcey is doing so well, she has had a grand total of 2 accidents, she sleeps from 10 to 5 and then goes out for a wee and then back for another hour! We have given her two walks today, we are lucky to have a large wood at the end of the road, both walks ended up being double the length we intended as so many people wanted to hold her, stroke and kiss her! 

I cannot thank you enough for the start you gave Darcey she is so friendly to young and old, dogs and people, it makes our job so easy. It can be quite difficult to keep going everyday when you are in constant pain but our little curly girl shines a very bright light into my life. Please thank your wonderful kids for looking after her and making me secure in the knowledge that when my nephews and niece come tomorrow she will be nothing but perfect.

just to let you know that Darcy has settled in very well, she sleeps through the night with no accidents!we took her onto Plymouth Hoe yesterday, so she saw the sea for the first time.She loves sitting on the edge of the top deck looking out over the garden, watching the birds and Squirrels.she is walking well on her lead, and we are going to puppy training lessons on Wednesday.She has ruined my flip-flops and Steves shoe laces! but we couldn't imagine life without her.
We will keep you updated on her progress.hope the family are all well,

Now for an update on Ysobel's pups who are now 5 weeks and 5 days old. Ysobel has done these pups so well and she has gone into full moult now and her coat is quite sparse in places. Bitches very much like humans whilst pregnant bloom and have beautiful hair and after the pups are born any time from 4 weeks omwards they will moult, some moult a little but some can almost go bald but this is quite normal and as long as not itchy or the skin sore it is just a normal after giving birth moult.
The girl is now named after Fay visited us last week and she is called Olive. My first Olive and it suits her and the children enjoy calling her it. So it is Bruiser Bailey, Dexter Dolittle, Charlie Titch and you guessed it, Olive Oil.

This video is of the pups at five weeks old and the background noise is two friends of our two oldest children had cycled over to us and I think we where under siege by the sounds of it.

This video shows the pups on the patio for the first time at 5 weeks old. Molly and Treacle from Dolly's litter are also in this video and you can see how much growth the pups make from 5 weeks old to pups nearly twelve weeks old.

Lastly a couple funny photo's. One photo shows what happens after a long day working, then a good dinner and a hot drink and the other shows Henry's swollen lip after trying to nibble a wasp. Its the second time he has been stung in as many weeks. The first was he sat on a wasp on the lawn and it stung his back foot, which swelled a bit and he cryed a little but he was okay and the second was a wasp in the living room window and he could not resist but try and nibble it. He was a little sore and swollen but thankfully not to much of a reaction that we needed to take him to the vets. I think though he has learnt that yellow and black strippey things are not good, as today he saw a wasp in the window and I noticed he noticed it but gave it a wide berth.
Hope to get all up to date soon on updates in my inbox and email enquiries and start putting down thoughts on litters for 2014 now I've got nothing to do with all the children at school. Lol

Quick blog tonight. Got some nice photos of the pups today, several of Ysobel's pups as they are really on the go now.  Titch is now Charlie or Charlie Titch, so have come up with for Bailey, Bruiser Bailey due to him being the bruiser of the litter and for Dexter, Dexter Doolittle because that just sounds nice together. Hope to have a name soon for the girl as her family visit us on Tuesday.
Molly and Treacle from Dolly's litter are now 11 weeks old and in a couple days Molly will be leaving us.
