The Telegraph reports The dark side of the designer dog trend: Why it's cruel not cute. "Many are left suffering from “intolerable pain” because of genetic defects as a result of unregulated breeding, peers have warned during a recent House of Lords debate."
With Tory Lord Black of Brentwood calling for the introduction of improved regulation to stop the torture breeding that is called Qualzucht breeding of animals that is seen now in some European countries. “I think we need to look at introducing regulation (that) now exists in some European countries to stop the torture breeding of these animals,” he said. “About a half to two thirds of these animals have severe breathing problems and spend their lives struggling for air, often collapsing, often overheating."
As I've said before, "Legislation is the only way to stop this" and it looks like the ball is starting to roll.
“The greatest pleasure of a dog is that you may make a fool of yourself with him, and not only will he not scold you,but he will make a fool of himself, too.”
