Finally the Labour Ward is in situ

Dinner

Just finished dinner tonight a bit late, as both my husband, David and I milking. Got home from milking and the meat taken out the freezer earlier today was not defrosted enough to eat, so will be dinner tomorrow and a change of plan for dinner, using up a rather ripe Brie in the fridge. That although smelling like an old sock, tasted delicious over steamed veg, new potatoes and smoked back bacon.

I've been like a blue arsed fly today and after not yet being able to get the Labour Ward up for Treacle, who is now around two weeks from whelping and a whole weekend of milking ahead for me, I was determined to get it done today on top of everything else.
​The photos of me with Treacle on my lap were taken just after washing off the pen that encloses the whelping box. I sat down for five minutes to have a cup of coffee and Toby (Father to the litter Treacle is carrying) decided to lie on my shoulder, whilst Treacle now a good seven weeks pregnant sat on my lap.

​After rebooting with dog cuddles I finally got everything in situ. The children shredded newspaper for me and the Labour Ward is now up and functional. Treacle has also had a chance for a little try out of the whelping box.

Treacle has just started to get her milk bars developing and has been eyeing up places to nest and have her pups. Her favourite place at the moment is burrowing in behind the curtain by the computer and the photo below is her now as I type this. Note the threads on the curtain. She's not the first expectant Mum to think behind this curtain might make a good place to have her pups.
