Lottie update for 2019. Lottie is from Reggie and Primrose's litter, born May 2014.
"Hi Jane and family,
Just a quick Lottie update before the new year starts.
Lottie is fine, as always my very loving natured, nutty little girl - or 'cubble bumps' as is my Mums nickname for her!
Unfortunately after getting back from holiday at the end of July, Lots had anul gland trouble. This lasted a good few weeks; she started being fidgety and constantly licking her bottom one day, I had a look at it and one of her glands was very swollen (which happened within a few hours), but it must have been so painful that by that evening, Lots had actually bitten right through the gland- so you can imagine the result was a dreadful mess!
To cut a long story short- after four trips to the vets and three lots of different antibiotics, she is fine now. I constantly had to keep her bottom and the wound in it clean, am so lucky she's so good at letting me 'fuss about' with her!
I now know the signs to look out for- and I now have to take Lots to vets every 3 months to have her glands checked- so we'll be going again in a couple of weeks time.
Apparently even being a little over weight can contribute to the gland problem- which she was, but since going for her vaccinations in August, have got her weight down and has lost around a kilo and half now which is good.
I've also changed her food - and quantities- so she now has the same food as her sister Dottie- as we found out, she too gets the same anul gland problem.
Hope you had a lovely Christmas and enclose pikky of Lots taken last week.
Love and best wishes for the new year,
Felicity and Lottie.x"
