Just had to show this lovely picture of Smidge I just took. He is just so handsome & he is going on really well again, after having his acute arthritis attack last week & seeing the vet. He was given cortisone .Which is for old dogs with chronic muscular , skeletal problems that can then get acute pain from time to time a steroid that is a miracle drug in the relief it gives from pain to are faithful friend.
Well, I have just had a bit of a strange experience. Thought I would just have a bit of a look at some other Cavalier breeder sites & clicked on Matings on one sight & thought it will be written details of what dogs had been mated & when pups are due but, WOW! They had filmed the dogs mating & you could watch it, sorry but I think thats a bit weird & I can assure you I am not a prude, but if I was looking for a Cavalier I would like to know more about health & temperment etc not watch its Dad making out with its Mum. Please, I would love to have some feed back on this, as to what people would like to know about Cavaliers, but I am sorry, I will not be rushing out & filming Charlies next romantic incounter as some things are between him & his girls & not for sharing.
Above is Alfie he is from are first litter of Cavapoos, please click on photo's to see full size. I had an phone call today from his owner to tell me how he is getting on and she then sent me these lovely pictures which she said I could use on my site. He really is a gorgeous chap and he is not just gorgeous to look at but has also got a great temperament and attitude to life, so much so that his owner has booked a pup from our next litter of Cavapoos, which is really nice to know that she was happy to come back to us and that this crossbreed is producing such a lovely type of dog.
Smidge is like a young dog again what a difference a day makes, he is back doodling around the place, but as for Pupster well, he is well & truly in the dog house for digging up my sprouting Broccoli, just because a mouse probably walked over or near my Broccoli & he could smell it, well that was a good enough reason to dig the lot up in the big tub it is growing in. Have replanted what was not totally wrecked, but will have to see in time if it can survive Pupsters assault on it. He was so proud with what he had done,so a bit hard to stay angry with. I have moved tub though so hopefully he can not do it again.
Smidge has been given cortisone & is like a new man, thanks to modern medicine. It is always a worry when your dog is not well, but as they get into their teens the worry is even greater as you know that something quite minor to a young dog could be a real challenge for a older dog, but Smidge lives to fight another day. Long live the Smidge!
Not a good morning, my old boy Smidge having trouble with his hip, going to vet in a minute. He is on daily pain relief for his hip but it obviously is not helping him at the moment. Really not nice to see a friend in pain, lets hope its a bit of cortisone and it will stop the pain. Such an old soldier Smidge.
Time goes so quick Millie's pups are over 5 weeks old & only have one left to find forever home for. I am keeping one girl back from this very special litter. The children have picked her & have named her Smudge, due to a bit of brown on her lip which looks like s smudge. I am very lucky with the people I meet through these little dogs as they say, like attracts like & it seems that the Cavalier pet owner is very much like the breed, friendly & easy going. Must add Smudge to The Girls page so you can see who which one she is.
Really excited going to see potentially new tricoloured stud dog tomorrow as have been looking for a tricoloured dog for a while. He is only a pup so hope he is as good as his picture i have seen as his breeding is ideal for my girls & it is going to be at least a 7 hour round trip so setting of early.
Hello out there my first Blog. Had a great week as had stud dog Charlie & all girls hearts checked on the 15th June & they are all clear certificated, Charlie is now 41/2 yrs old so really glad to always know he is going on fine & dandy. Having annual eye checks on 6th July so keeping every thing crossed again for that. Millie Mum of are last litter is going on fine with her 6 pups & they will be ready for their new homes from the 12th July (see New Arrivals) there is 3 pups available from this litter.
