The two girls Blottie and Bumble who we kept back from Smudge and Henry's litter of Cavalier cross Brittany pups are nearly fourteen weeks old. Blottie and Bumble on Monday got their first run in the woods on Monday along with Millie.
Blottie at home and with the couple walks she has had up the road from our property is already proving to be much the braver of the two girls and when meeting two dogs up the woods Blottie showed that not much is going to worry her, but Bumble on meeting the first dog, which happened to be a very large black German Shepherd, high tailed it, luckily being caught by our oldest son walking behind me and the rest of the children. Bumble's reaction you can not blame her for. Imagine yourself in the woods and someone approaches you, who looks nothing like any human you have seen before and also happens to be at least four times your size. Would you just stand there as they bound up to you ?
The German Shepherd was a lovely friendly gentle chap and thankfully his owner was only to happy to accommodate the time and patience for Bumble to meet him in a more controlled fashion. Whilst I was knelt reassuring Bumble, the German Shepherd thought it a good opportunity to give my face a full wash. Which rather endeared him to me even more. Lol
The next dog we meet was a Labrador and he was also a very well behaved social dog. Bumble and Blottie were happy to walk along behind him following him and his family, as we all finished our walk together back at the car park. I then had a chat with them and thanked them for helping in socialising Blottie and Bumble.
In the video (Which has taken two days of trying to upload, to finally upload today) I use the term "Alsatian" because when I was a child growing up in the UK it was the PC term for German Shepherd dogs. So please, I don't need a lecture on the naming of these dogs. Lol. Also my son is wearing a camouflage jacket with a German flag on it, but before anyone shouts "nazi" from a loosely girthed high horse. It is from an Army surplus store and is circa 1994.
