Things are very busy at the moment with the approaching festive season, and my grim determination to get out with the dogs and have some fun with them this Winter. Teagol has now done three days on a local small shoot our family have been beating on for a few seasons now. I have managed to get out on two Saturdays with Ernest, and he is proving to be a lovely little steady spaniel for flushing with. Teagol also is watching and understanding what it is all about, and has relished her times off the lead at the end of a drive, and has managed to come back without to much trouble.
There are another five days of the shooting season I hope to get out. I would love to get Blottie and her sister, Bumble out, but if Blottie cycles her normal 7 months, she could be on heat any day now. I did think about injecting her not to come on heat, but I don't like interfering with a bitch's cycle unless absolutely necessary. She is up pretty tight and fit at the moment, so maybe she might hold off until it starts to get lighter, and I let her down. Considering putting her on this time, but I would really like to get her daughter, Teagol's MRI results first. Teagol goes up with Sasha beginning of next week to Bristol to be MRI scanned (Teagol will be exactly one years old, and this is the earliest they can be scanned on the scheme) and it can take a month to get the grading results back from the BVA - CM / SM scheme. Fingers firmly crossed for Teagol's grading.
