This morning I received a very sad email for one of our beautiful pups. Basil aka Cyril has been put to sleep. He was from Dolly's third litter of pups (with the Dad being Reggie) born back in October 2011 Dolly amazes us again.
I just wanted to get in touch to let you know that very sadly we have had to have our dog Basil put to sleep. He was Dolly’s last litter I think - you named him Cyril ( we decided to call him Basil). He was a much loved dog who touched the hearts of everyone who met him, and gave so much happiness and love to our lives. We are so sad to say goodbye to him, but he has had a cystic mass in his head which although he was able to live with for some time deteriorated quickly recently to cause blindness and breathing problems and he was ready to stop fighting it. It has been a very sad few days but we are focusing on remembering the many happy times we had with him, thank you for enabling us to have such a wonderful dog. He was one in a million
With best wishes
Anyone who has lost a dog will be feeling that loss as if it was yesterday, reading about Basil's passing. Truly feeling and understanding the pain that Jane and her family are going through and coming to terms with at this time, but we must remember the joy and comfort our little bedfellows bring us through their all so seemingly to us, short lives. They fill a space in our hearts, so they will never leave us!
“The greatest pleasure of a dog is that you may make a fool of yourself with him, and not only will he not scold you,but he will make a fool of himself, too.”
