Getting A Puppy From Poundlane
Although we primarily breed for ourselves, we can't keep all the pups in a litter. This page tells you how we go about homing the pups we have spare from a litter.

WE DO NOT EXPORT PUPPIES
I am a hobby breeder, coming from a working background with dogs and have been around and involved with Cavaliers for nearly forty years. With many years of hands on experience in breeding not only dogs, but horses, sheep, pigs and cattle (working in the Dairy industry for over thirty years). Our breeding program purpose is to breed a healthier type small spaniel similar to the Cavalier King Charles spaniel in temperament, regaining their sporting aptitude with a healthier less extreme phenotype by crossbreeding, utilizing my years of knowledge gained through watching and being involved in crossbreeding of dogs and other species. We don't breed to waiting lists, fashion or rosettes, our litters are bred primarily for ourselves. We breed for dogs that can function in the world around them, with temperaments and physical attributes which lend them to be trained for most situations. They make firstly great companion dogs (with dogs we have bred being used as assistance dogs, and helping children in schools), family dogs, and working dogs. Would also excel at dog sports such as obedience and agility.
Our breeding dogs are multi generational health tested.

We have a at least two visit policy, before a puppy leaves us
Two visit policy: First visit to meet us and us meet you, along with meeting the litter and the parents. If all okay then reserving a puppy from the litter. Then to pick up the puppy. Between the first visit and coming to pick your puppy up, you are welcome to visit as many times as possible.
First Contact
If you want to know more about us and our dogs, I (Jane) am happy to be contacted for a chat on 01769 520992. Puppies are £950.00 each
We do not take visitors until we have a litter on the ground and the pups are six weeks old.

Waiting Lists
We do not now run a waiting list, as we find you can be under pressure to then breed to a waiting list rather than breed for betterment. When we breed a litter, if puppies are available from the litter they will be open to public interest once they have turned six weeks old.
You are welcome to contact us for a chat about our dogs, but this is not a guarantee of getting a puppy from us. Please only contact us if seriously interested in what we are doing, and are patient and prepared to wait for puppies to become available. Contact us by phone on 01769 560969

The Birth
When the pups are born I will publish this on our blog What's going on at Poundlane and regular updates of them growing.
Four to six Weeks Old
Around six weeks old we normally have decided which puppy/puppies we wish to retain from the litter. We will then put up on our blog What's going on at Poundlane any pups available from the litter and invite people to contact us about giving a home to a Poundlane puppy. After contacting us and a chat, a first visit is booked and on visiting us if we have a pup suitable, and you wish to proceed with having a pup from us, you will then need to pay us a £100 at this stage, with the remaining paid, when you pick the puppy up from 8 to 10 weeks old. Puppies can leave us at 8 weeks, but can stay with us longer by separate arrangement. We only breed one sometimes two litters a year and monies from litters go towards the ongoing care of our retired breeding girls and boys and health testing of our pack.
When you visit it is a good idea to compile a list of questions before arriving, as most people once they see the pups tend to forget any questions unless written down or stored on their smartphone. I will endeavour to answer them for you.
You can then visit your pup as many times as you like before picking them up, but if it is not possible to visit again until you pick your pup up, our blog will show you regular updates and photos of how your pup is developing. We will expect you to visit us at least once prior to visiting us to pick up your puppy.

Taking Your Puppy home
Between 6 to 8 weeks old your pup will be microchipped and will be ready to leave us from 8 to 12 weeks old. We will discuss vaccinating your pup with you. We vaccinate pups on an individual needs basis and preference. So pups can leave us without vaccinations, start their vaccinations with us or have the full primary curse with us before leaving.
Finally the day comes for you to bring home your pup. Your pup will be starting to get the hang of house training and in most cases are clean overnight. They will have been out in our car for little car trips getting ready to leave us. We will run you through the routine we have with them. We will provide an extensive Puppy Pack when your puppy leaves us to help settle them in with you.
Your pup will of been born indoors and reared in a busy home and will be used to noisy children and other dogs. Your pup should be used to lots of household noises and will be bred from parents that have displayed excellent temperaments around our own children. We do take great care with rearing our pups and all of them have lots of human interaction.
When you have got your pup home we are still here to help with a lifetime of advice and always glad to have updates and photos of your pup to know how you are getting on. Also for whatever reason if you ever need to rehome your Poundlane pup we will have them back.
