WE DO NOT EXPORT PUPPIES
Why I don't export
I am a hobby breeder, coming from a working background with dogs and have been around and involved with Cavaliers for nearly forty years. With many years of hands on experience in breeding not only dogs, but horses, sheep, pigs and cattle (working in the Dairy industry for over thirty years). Our breeding program purpose is to breed a healthier type small spaniel similar to the Cavalier King Charles spaniel in temperament, regaining their sporting aptitude with a healthier less extreme phenotype by crossbreeding, utilizing my years of knowledge gained through watching and being involved in crossbreeding of dogs and other species. We don't breed to waiting lists, fashion or rosettes, our litters are bred primarily for ourselves. We breed for dogs that can function in the world around them, with temperaments and physical attributes which lend them to be trained for most situations. They make firstly great companion dogs (with dogs we have bred being used as assistance dogs, and helping children in schools), family dogs, and working dogs. Would also excel at dog sports such as obedience and agility.
Unfortunately, we can't keep every puppy from each litter, so we do have puppies available with litters we breed. You can see what we are producing after three generations of crossbreeding and ten years of careful selection on The POUNDLANE spaniel page. Below on this page is how we do things, if you wish to get a Poundlane puppy.

We have a at least two visit policy, before a puppy leaves us
Two visit policy: First visit to meet us and us meet you, along with meeting the litter and the parents. If all okay then reserving a puppy from the litter. Then to pick up the puppy. Between the first visit and coming to pick your puppy up, you are welcome to visit as many times as possible.
First Contact
On our Litters you can find information about an up coming litter or if we have a litter on the ground. If you want to know more about us and our dogs, we are happy to be contacted for a chat on 01769560969 or you can email us at howarthmurch@btinternet.com to be asked to ring us for a chat.
We do not take visitors until we have a litter on the ground.

Waiting Lists
With due consideration we have decided not to do waiting lists on litters anymore, as we are not a commercial breeder. This gives us more freedom in our breeding project, and allows us more time to consider the puppy we wish to retain from each litter. When a litter is born and has been reared on for two weeks or more we will then look to find homes for the rest of the pups. When we open a litter to the public, this will be published on the blog page What's going on at Poundlane and the Litters page.
You are welcome to contact us though to know more about what we are doing at any time. Please only contact us if seriously interested. Contact us by phone on 01769 560969 or email at howarthmurch@btinternet.com

The Birth
When the pups are born I will publish this on our blog What's going on at Poundlane and the Litters page.
Four to six Weeks Old
Around four to six weeks old we normally have decided which puppy/puppies we wish to retain from the litter. We will then put up on the website pages What's going on at Poundlane and Litters the pups available from the litter and invite people to contact us about giving a home to a Poundlane puppy. After contacting us and a chat, a first visit is booked and on visiting us and if we have a pup suitable and you wish to proceed with having a pup from us, you will then need to pay us a £100 deposit at this stage, with the remaining paid, when you pick the puppy up after around ten weeks old. All our pups are £850. Monies from a puppy sold is used in the ongoing health testing and care of our breeding dogs past and present.
When you visit it is a good idea to compile a list of questions before arriving, as most people once they see the pups tend to forget any questions unless written down or stored on their smart phone. I will endeavour to answer them for you.
You can then visit your pup as many times as you like before picking them up, but if it is not possible to visit again until you pick your pup up, our blog will show you regular updates and photos of how your pup is developing. We will expect you to visit us at least once prior to visiting us to pick up your puppy.

Taking Your Puppy home
At 8 weeks old your pup will be micro-chipped and will start it's primary vaccination course, and can leave just after 10 weeks old, after receiving it's second vaccination for Distemper, Hepatitis and Parvo. We will keep puppies longer if needed.
Finally the day comes for you to bring home your pup. Your pup will be starting to get the hang of house training and in most cases are clean over night. They will have been out in our car for little car trips getting ready to leave us. We will run you through the routine we have with them. We will provide an extensive Puppy Pack when leaving us and details of what this contains are below.
Your pup will of been born indoors and reared in a busy home and will be used to noisey children and other dogs. Your pup should be used to lots of household noises and will be bred from parents that have displayed excellent temperaments around our own children. We do take great care with rearing our pups and all of them have lots of human interaction.
When you have got your pup home we are still here to help with a lifetime of advice and always glad to have updates and photos of your pup to know how you are getting on.
Please take a look at our Litters page to see what's happening or please feel free to contact us by phone for a no pressure chat on 01769 560969 or email at howarthmurch@btinternet.com to find out more about future litters we have planned.
