Bumble is one of the girls we kept from our litter of Cavalier/Brittany pups born last year. She has been fascinated with Treacle's pups pretty much since they were born and she could just hear them suckling their Mum. Slowly she has been able to see more of them and get closer to them as Mum relaxes her guard on them.
As you can see this morning Mum, Treacle is happy with her pups at 33 days old to have Bumble alongside her in the bed with her pups.
In our pack of 13 dogs, only Dolly and Ysobel arrived here as adult dogs, around 18 months old, but the rest of the pack have either been born here or have been here since 8 weeks old. This makes for close bonds in the pack and thus common for shared rearing with litters at around the 4 week stage. Last year Treacle helped Smudge with rearing her litter, Bumble being one of the pups from that litter.
“The greatest pleasure of a dog is that you may make a fool of yourself with him, and not only will he not scold you,but he will make a fool of himself, too.”
