Smudge's Usual Suspects now 8 weeks old !

21/6/2012

Smudge's Cavapoo pups reach 8 weeks old tomorrow and will start to leave us. They have been vet checked and microchipped, so now ready for their new homes.
Had a little problem this week with my camera deciding to give up. I think its just had one to many times being dropped on the floor by our children, so yesterday travelled into Barnstaple to get another camera and realised getting in to town that I had forgot my purse fortunately I had some cash on me  and scrapped enough to get a camera so that I could get some last photo's of Smudge's pups onto my blog tonight.
Our internet connection has also been playing up with the heavy rain and living on the side of a valley this can make using the computer a nightmare sometimes but the views make up for the pain of having a poor connection.
Hope to get back on track next week with updates as have quite a view to do and some lovely photos to share. Lets hope the weather can also get back on track to as really had enough of bringing in wood for the stove.

Hi Jane,
Lovely pictures of Smudge's pups. They are all so similar to Millie's pups, both got beautiful mum's. One or two of them look so like Bayley. We will miss your blog when they have gone to their new homes.
Kind regards

Hi Jane,

Just thought you would like to know that archie is settling in really well! He only whimpered for 5mins in the car, then dropped off! He slept until 4.30 this morning and was up and about happily wagging his taill
and racing around! He had his first jab today and the vet said he was a gorgeous puppy! He is adorable! We'll send photos soon xxx

Your puppies are so beautiful. I only wish I could put my name down for one when I retire from work but I live far away in Surrey and don't know of any cavapoo breeders here. Thank you for the photos.

Hello Maggie, we live in Doncaster, South Yorkshire and made the journey south to collect Bailey. It was very worth it as he is a beautiful dog who we all love dearly. Jane does a lovely job of giving her puppies the best start in life and it shows!

Hello Sue,

How are things going Bailey?

Hello Maggie,

We also had a long journey. We live in Hornchurch Essex & we had a 10hr round trip when we went to choose Roxy & the same when we collected her. Roxy is Bailey's sister & she is a real super star. We waited five months for Roxy & believe me she was well worth the wait. We are going to do it all over again when Primrose hopefuly has her puppies in October. This should now tell you what a top class breeder Jane is. Her dogs & puppies are a real credit to her.

Hi Tracey,
I was interested in what you have written as we also live in Essex and are picking up a puppy from Jane in 2 weeks. How did the journey go? Any tips would be gratefully received.

Hello Trudi,

When we went to choose a puppy we decided to try the trip there and back in one day which was a bit tough. When picking Roxy up we stayed in Bristol for a couple of nights before going on to Devon which worked really well. What we have decided to do when choosing the next puppy is book a B&B for a night to make the round trip easier and will probably do the same when we pick the puppy up. It is a long journey but a dog is for life so if you're happy with the breeder then it is worth it. I would also recommend you buy a book called 'The Perfect Puppy' by Gwen Bailey as it really does help in training the puppy and gives a lot of excellent information. Hope this is of help and wish you all the very best with your new puppy. Just out of curiosity where abouts do you live in Essex?

Best wishes,

Tracey :-) x

Hello Jane,

I'm also going to miss puppy updates when they all go to their new loving homes. I know that you have had your hands full at times with all your gorgeous puppies, but Jane they are a real credit to you. I hope that you are all keeping well.

Best Wishes

Tracey & Roxy xx :-)

We are in Colchester and funnily enough we have done the opposite to you. We stayed a night in bristol when we saw our puppy for the first time and have decided to do the round trip when we pick him up. I've got the book you recommended and it is a very good book. Did you have to stop many times on your way home with roxy??

Hello Trudi,

So your not far then. How funny you doing the opposite to us. I thought we only did one stop, my husband said we did two, however Roxy chose not to do any weeing at all. She slept most of the way to be honest with you. Have you chose a name yet ?

Tracey :-) xx

Hi Tracey,
I thought I had already replied to you a few days ago but it doesn't seem to have worked. It sounds like your trip home was ok. I have been thinking it would be a nightmare so I am really pleased to hear from you. Our puppy is Dougle. They are all so gorgeous aren't they.
