Sorry for the delayed blog but my internet connection is playing up & this is the third time tonight I have loaded these photo's onto my blog & attempted to type a blog, so I am not risking talking for to long & have not titled the photo's incase of losing everything yet again, so hope you enjoy & Happy Fathers day to all the Dads who work hard at being a Dad through the rough & the smooth. Started doing a blog tonight, loading up lots of photos & then for my internet connection to go down, so hours downloading photos was lost. I was slightly preturbed by this with a blue cloud appearing over are home.lol. So I start again fingers crossed. Is it really 10 days ago I last blogged ? Time is marching on with June upon us & the start of the rainy season for the UK.lol. Today has been none stop rain, so the wafting smell of wet dogs permeates through the house with a mountain of muddy damp towels built up obscuring the washing machine. With drying off children, dogs & ourselves, today I am thankful for the invention of the washing machine. Lucinda left over a week ago for her new home with Sue & Jim. They have sent a couple photo's of Lucinda as she is settling in & in July she will come back for two weeks as they have a holiday booked, so I will catch up with Lucinda & she will be my guest fot two weeks. I have also had photo's & updates of Roxy & Albert who are siblings from Lucy's litter born back in December & are now 6 months old. They are Cavapoo's & both have just had a haircut so look very smart. Roxy is going on really well & has become very much a member of Tracey's family. Thanks Tracey for your regular updates & much appreciated support. Albert who is Roxy's brother & who was the biggest of the litter is doing well & is responding well to training loving going for walks & shows a love for water at the seaside & swimming in a stream which could be the Poodle in him although the majority of Cavaliers I have had shown or show a love of going into water. Albert has recently been castrated (neutered) & got over this very quickly. Neutering for a male dog is quite minor surgery & with modern anaesthetics the recovery all going well is quick. Thanks Kim for letting me know how you are all getting on & your kind words. Below are photo's of Lucinda, Roxy & Albert. Hope to reload up photo's of my dogs tomorrow as 10 days of Sleeping Cavaliers to catch up with takes a while to load up. Must be two weeks since I last blogged, so lots to catch up with. I have not blogged for a while due to being busy with my family both human & canine. Last time I blogged I had just rehomed my lovely boy Oscar after finding out that he had fertilty problems. Marian has since having him emailed me saying he is doing fine & in her own words she "just loves the boy to bits." Oscar is a fine young man & it is just misfortune that he was not able to breed but he looks set for a great life with Marian. Thanks Marian for the photo's & update. After I last blogged I then had the great joy of a visit from Madeleine with her very special Oliver. Oliver is Smudge's brother with their Mum being my very special Millie. Madeleine got some great photo's of the three together & also Primrose got in there to, being Oliver's half sister as their Dad is Charlie. Oliver was one years old in May & it was such a pleasure for me to see what a wonderful job Madeleine has done with rearing Oliver, with him being such a well rounded individual who is obviously very much loved & cared for. Breeding from good tempered parents is part way to getting a dog of sound temperment but once the pup leaves my care then nuture will also very much shape the pup & what they become as an adult dog, so to see one of my pups on the cusp of adulthood that has been nutured so well is wonderful. Thanks so much Madeleine for driving all that way for me to see your handsome boy Oliver & another thanks for the great photo's of the family reunion. The photo below is to me so funny especially if you know Primrose. Madeleine sent me this funny phot of her Oliver showing off & Primrose not at all impressed.lol  Primrose unimpressed with Oliver's antics Yesterday Toni sent me the photo below of Big Poppy after her first haircut. Poppy is going to be training to be a "Dog helping children" & toni says for me to look out to see Poppy's photo in are local paper as they are doing a piece about these dogs, the charity & what they train them to do. Poppy starts advance training at the end of this month & Toni is going to keep me posted. Poppy is from are last litter of Cavapoo pups from Lucy. Thanks Toni for the update & good luck with the training.  Big Poppy's first haircut Over the last two weeks we have been doing some soul searching & we have decided to put are home on the market to sell as we are trying to reduce are morgage & will try to buy a place needing work done to it like we did with Greenways as we have extended & improved this place over the years & although we have a small mortgage to the property it is a reasonable one for us. We also made the decision to rehome a couple of are girls, as over the last couple years we have gained maybe more dogs than we should have. So with a heavy heart I have rehomed are Black & Tan girl Bonnie, who I took to her new home last weekend & tonight had a lovely email telling me how well she has settled in with her new home, thanks Mary-Esther for your update. We are also rehoming Lucinda who is going to Sue's & Jim's home & they visited us last weekend to meet her & I will be taking her to them on Sunday to join their home. Sue & Jim have had Irish Red Setters before so a Cavalier should be a walk in the park. We have decided that we will not breed any pups until the Autumn incase we move & if by the Autumn we have not sold will take the house off the market for the winter months. We will breed one litter of Cavaliers this Autumn & maybe a Cavapoo litter but we will breed a Cavapoo litter by spring 2012. Hope this all makes sense. I have emailed everyone on my waiting list about this change & have had such a lovely response from people, as I feel like I have let people down & can put myself through the mill about things like this hence probably the real reason why I have felt unable to blog lately. Lastly are photo' of the gang in various poses but as usual lots of "Sleeping Cavaliers". |
