Primrose's Cavapoo pups are now just over 5 weeks old. They enter the maximus cutiness stage and are a joy to watch them get ever more confident with each day. Three of the family's having these pups have meet their new addition to their family and the boy with the camouflage collar will meet his family this weekend coming. We have names for two of them, with one of the boys with the blue and white striped collar being an Archie and the girl first born with no white on her face being a Maisy. 

We found out this weekend that Reggie likes Guinness, as my husband likes the occasional pint of Guinness and Reggie seemed rather interested in David drinking , so he let him have a sip and Reggie would of happily drunk the whole pint if allowed. Spot the photo of Reggie enjoying a pint !

Thanks for all the kind message's. My Mum came home the end of last week and she is doing well, although a little frail. My children where glad to see her home, as with the infection she had we had been advised not to take the children into hospital to visit just incase, so they  have only just now been allowed to apply liberal amounts of cuddle medicine to their Granny, which is helping with her recovery.

Alfie's, Edward's and Luna's photo's where sent to me a little while ago back in the summer time, as I am a little behind in getting updates on the blog as people who have sent me update's will be aware of.

Dolly had these on the 29th October 2011 and closely followed by Ysobel giving birth to six pups on the 3rd November 2011, so an early Happy first birthday to Ysobel's pups  Mason, Sadie, Tinkerbell, Otis, Rosie and the sixth one who I could not think of the name of her and then remembered that's our Belle who we kept from this litter. Lol

I blog tonight, with news earlier this week that my husband's Mum's sister, his Auntie  had  not been feeling well and visited the Doctor to be sent to hospital and on arrival there had had a Cardiac Arrest and major organ failure and was critical but stable. Yesterday the news came that she had passed away. She was only in her sixties. Very much a shock to our  family and with my Mum being admitted to hospital on Thursday with a serious infection and is still in hospital at this time, its been an emotional  roller coaster of a week and a reminder to never take life for granted, it is priceless.

Primrose and pups are doing well and a reminder that life  goes on and are a much appreciated distraction. They are now just over 4 weeks old. Today we have removed the whelping box and they now have the luxury of an oval dog bed with a very plush cuddle bed in it and have been enjoying sleeping in varies positions on their new bed and the most favoured seems to be on their backs with all fours in the air.  We have had them out round the home and this week weather permitting will start to let them have a few minutes outside on the patio. Some lovely photo's tonight of the pups over the last couple days and Belle interacting with them, she is fascinated by them and if we do decide to breed from her in the future, I think that we will not have to worry about her mothering skills.

 

Primrose's Cavapoo pups are now over three weeks old and yesterday we put collars on them. The two boys have blue collars and the two girls are in pink. They also yesterday have started to show an interest in food and have had a few licks of Royal Canin Starter, which is a dry food specially for pups up to 8 weeks old. It is a very small kibble and for the first few days I moisten it until they get into the hang of chewing it.
Tonight I also have a few photo's of Dad Reggie. The last couple months we have had none stop bitch's on heat and thought we night have a break until spring but Smudge has decided to come on heat being 8 months since her last heat and just under six months ago she had nine pups, so still lots of juggling of dogs. Reggie is very good. The good thing is that Reggie and Toby get on really well even when girls are on heat around the place, as very often male dogs that get on well can get aggressive with each other when a bitch is on heat, seeing  each other as competition but up until now Reggie and Toby seem very good mates and very much like my two old boys Smidge and Pupster, who always got on together even when the girls flashed their eyes at them.

Two blogs  in one day but had to share these photo's hot off the press of the pups encountering toys for the first time. Also Belle who just wants to mother these pups and has been caught in with them a few times already. She is half sister to their mum and her Dad is the same as the pups, so that makes her Auntie and half sister to them but she don't care what relationship she has to them, the title of wet nurse will do just fine if she has her own way.
These pups now are entering the real fun stage and such a joy to watch them get ever more adventurous with every day. Primrose is very chilled and happy for the other dogs to look in at her pups and in Belle's  and Jessica's case happy for them to get in the whelping box with her. Primrose is a very happy little dog and having pups seems to of put her in her element.
Thanks everyone for wishing me well after my little accident last weekend and actually other than a big bruise on my shin which only hurts if Belle accidently  walks into me, as Belle does have a habit of walking in front of me and then changing her mind where she's going and nearly tripping me up in the process , I have been remarkably well with very little whiplash after my sudden enconter with the forces of gravity.
  Magaret (Bella's family) thanks for your email a couple days ago and I have yet to answer personally , Yes, I agree Cavapoos need to come with a Government Health Warning. 

Warning: Your Cavapoo may need to be bathed on several occasions  due to its magnetic pull towards Fox and Badger motions. 

Warning:  Your Cavepoo may like retrieving lots and you may get repetitive strain injury.

Warning: If you have had a Cavalier you will find a Cavapoo more active.

Warning: Although your Cavapoo maybe all of the above they will become every bit one of the family and will tug on your heart strings on numerous occasions.

If you laugh at these warning's, a Cavapoo could be your soul mate.

Primrose's pups tomorrow will be three weeks old and are now wobbling about and the occasional little woof can be heard, also their little tails cutely  wag when hearing your voice or they are smoothed. This shows the bond already being made with humans and that they accept human contact as part of their life and most importantly they are not fearful of human contact but engage with humans  and look for comfort from you and also to play with you. Human contact in a pups first weeks is very important and will help them establish a strong bond with humans.

Lots of photo's and some showing them mobile and a couple of the rest of the gang enjoying or not enjoying the rather wet weather we have had the last couple days, who am I kidding the wet weather we have had for the last year. Lol.  They where watching me putting logs up to the door for our wood burner and they had all lined up sitting on the doorstep out of the rain looking at me, so I thought quick camera but got the camera, missed the photo I wanted but took a couple any way of them looking a bit bedraggled and Belle in one photo looks to be trying to say "Can we go in now, please!"

Primrose's Cavapoo pups are now  9 days old and would expect to see their eyes opening in a few days time.  Primrose is being a very laid back mum and her pups are seemingly thriving on her mothering skills.
I have included a couple photo's of Granny Ysobel as she is Primrose's mum and was not very well a little while ago with suspected Lyme disease , as you can see she is now getting  condition back in her coat. Her coat after the infection came out in handfuls and looked very dull, so its good to see her coat starting to bloom again. Dolly has just gone of heat  and normally Ysobel cycles along side Dolly but due to her illness her heat has been delayed and I would not be surprised if she did not cycle now until the spring but would not be surprised if she came in next month. I will be keeping a close eye on her either way.
