New Year greeting from Bertie Boo's family. He is from Smudge and Henry's Brittany/Cavalier litter born Spring 2015 Smudge has nine little Hudges He is Bumble and Blottie's (the two girls we kept from the litter) brother. Seems I've not been the only one who's been feeling as rough as a badger's bottom over Christmas.
Hello Emma,
know how you feel. I've had a cold which left me with a racking cough all through Christmas. Still coughing, but it is getting less each day. Good to hear that your old boy is well and gets on with Bertie Boo. Wishing you all a Happy New Year from us all at Poundlane Jane x

A lovely update arrived today for one of our old girls Lucy. Three years ago we rehomed Lucy. She came to us as an adult dog and she had, had two beautiful litters of Cavapoo pups. It was felt with Lucy that she might be happier in a home with less dogs as she grew old. You can read part of her story on The Girls page. "Hi everybody, Here I am once again another year gone, almost. I do hope you all had an amazing fun time at Christmas. I did, with lots of prezzies and some extra food! The trouble is I think my walks have got a bit longer during the day and there is this awful hill ..................... say no more. I know from last year I heard the words "weight, diet" but I have gone completely deaf so I suppose the extra lengthy walk has to do with these words. I do however have a warm coat and TWO new cosy lambswool blankets to sleep in. I had lots of toys and most mornings I meet two very young sisters when they are going to school - Chloe and Imogen. They adore me and I had a present from them this year. A squeaky red bone (photo attached) and some goodboy chocs. I did attempt to break open the parcel which was under the tree but was caught redhanded and I did not see it again until Christmas Day! I am sending you a couple of photos just for you to see I am still enjoying my life here after leaving you all some 3 years ago. I will be 10 years old in June. I am deaf but it is an advantage at times, I do not hear Judith moaning about the piles of toys and not being put back! Disadvantage - I can't hear the cake and biscuit tins being opened. My sense of smell is brilliant Well, that's all from me until the next time but Judith, Tony and myself wish you all a Happy, Peaceful and Healthy New Year. Love you all Lucyxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx" Hello Judith and Tony,
lovely to hear from Lucy and that apart from her hearing she is pretty well for nearly 10 years old. Thanks for keeping in touch each year, as it passes. Hello Alison,
thanks for the lovely photos of Millie and Maddie enjoying the festivities. Wishing you all a wonderful New Year from us all at Poundlane Jane x DarceyDarcey is from Dolly and Reggie's litter of Cavapoos born June 2013 And its a boy ! "Hi Jane and everyone at Pound Lane, Just wanted to say hi and wish you all a Merry Christmas, I do pop by the blog still and love seeing your pictures and videos. Darcey has enjoyed this last year with her new brother Milo, he is a lovely little dog but doesn't have the bomb proof temperament of Darcey, I think it's that Cavalier half that makes her so nice! While Darcey Sleeps has had a good year too and the picture below is one I did of a puppy Darcey and made into greeting cards that have proved very popular. Have a fantastic Christmas and love to everyone Karen, Neil, Carys, Darcey and Milo xx" Hello Karen, hope you all had a lovely Christmas Day and wishing you a great New Year from us all at Poundlane Jane x BayleyBayley is from Millie's last ever litter and his dad is Reggie. Bayley was born March 2012 Seven new arrivals Hello Glenda,
thanks for keeping in touch and hope you had a lovely Christmas day and wishing you a great New Year from us all at poundlane Jane x The dogs had, had several hours out running this morning, and as I prepared lunch I thought all of them were asleep in the utility, but on closer inspection of the photos there was one missing. Can you figure out which one from the photos? Nothing better to see than a man in harmony with his vegetables on Christmas morning. The magic has been spunI had a pillow case as a child, so our children have a pillow case allocated to them on their first Christmas and all going well that pillow case will see them through until they fly the nest. They decorate them as they see fit and they become a memory catcher.
One more Christmas greeting found in the email inbox and this one is from Alfie's family. Alfie is from Dolly and Reggie's cavapoo litter born the end of October 2011 Dolly amazes us again
Hello Tony and Gina,
good to hear from you and that all is well with Alfie. Thanks for keeping in touch for the last 5 years, it certainly has flown by. Wishing you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from us all at Poundlane Jane x Milked this morning and I'm now officially on lock down for Christmas. and could not resist a couple little blogs on the eve of Christmas, even though I said yesterday I was clocking off for Christmas. Amazing how better you can feel when you finally get a good nights sleep. The photos are the welcoming home party this morning on my return from milking. Just found this lovely Christmas greeting from Laura, who has Daisy and Harry. Daisy she had as a pup from us and Daisy's litter sibling Harry came back to us at around 11 months old and Laura contacted me and took him on as well. Daisy and Harry are from Smudge and Henry's Brittany/cavalier litter born last year Smudge has nine little Hudges "Merry Christmas Jane and all at Poundlane. It's hard to believe that this time last year we only had Daisy - it seems like Harry has always been part of our lives. It's true to say it's been quite a steep learning curve having two adolescent dogs at the same time, but it really has been a joy as well. They are completely devoted to each other and spend a large part of their day playing and getting up to mischief, although they are definitely calming down a lot. I've started gundog training with them, which is yielding some results. It's mainly their recall which needs work - they hare off without a backward glance at the moment but I'm hopeful they'll get better with more training. Apart from that, Daisy is the smarter of the two and gets a bit fed up at times with her lovable doofus of a brother, but they have learned to rub along well together. I hope all is well with you and the pack. I still follow the blog and love the updates on the other pups, particularly Blottie and Bumble. I've attached the photo of my attempt to pose the dogs with Christmas hats! Needless to say, it was a bit over ambitious! Love from, Laura, Rob, Millie, Isabelle, and Daisy and Harry too, of course" Hello Laura, great to hear from you. Was just about to sign off for Christmas and saw your email. Must admit I've not been feeling so good the last week with a damn irritable throat (aftermath of a cold), which keeps me awake best part of the night coughing.
Blottie and Bumble have calmed down in the manner they play with each other and it is funny now to watch Sasha and Bertha going through the same very noisy play times. Good to hear everything is going well. Wishing you all a great Christmas from us all at Poundlane Jane x I've been sent some lovely Christmas cards this year featuring past Poundlane puppies. A big thank you for that and to everyone else who has sent me greetings by post. Wishing you all a wonderful Christmas and New Year! Christmas greetings from Mollie, who is from Smudge and Reggie's Cavapoo litter born in 2014 Its six "Dear Granny Jane and all of my brothers and sisters A very happy Christmas to all of my brothers and sisters, I hope you get lots of goodies. My mum and dad tried to dress me up and put a hat on but I was having none of it. I mean I have to keep my dignity don't I. I have sent you a photo and a little video. I am going to visit my Nephew on Christmas Day he is a Jackawawa and we run around like mad every time we see each other, so it is going to be a bit mad for our mums and dads, I think they will need a large glass of something!!!! To Granny Jane and family, My mum and dad want to wish you all a very happy Christmas too, and want to thank you for letting me go to live with them, they love me very much and I'm spoilt rotten (at least that is what they say) so have a lovely time, and Granny Jane will you put your feet up please you are making my mum feel very guilty. Happy Christmas all Lots of love Mollie (Moo)" Hello Rhian, Russ and Mollie, thanks for the lovely Christmas Greeting. Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from all of us at Poundlane Jane x Christmas greetings from Flora, who is from Smudge and Reggie's Cavapoo litter born in 2014 Its six "Dear Jane, Just sending festive greetings to you and your family - and of course the "Poundlane Pack"! We have had another wonderful year with Flora , our happy little dog. She has had holidays to the Sussex coast, Devon and France and continues to be a great companion for Alan during the day and a stress reliever for me after work. Happy Christmas to you all , and very best wishes for 2017. I have attached some random photos of Floras year! Thank you for her. Love Lucy and Alan .... and licks and 100 wags from Flora!" Thanks Lucy, great to hear from you and that Flora is your "happy little dog."
Wishing you a wonderful Christmas and a happy New Year from us all at Poundlane Jane x Christmas greeting from Tilly, who is from Smudge and Henry's litter born last year Smudge has nine little Hudges Tilly is 1/2 brittany and 1/2 Cavalier. "Dear Jane I just wanted to drop you a line to wish you and your family a very happy Christmas. We’ve been following the progress of your last 2 litters and they look wonderful; I must say that I was very tempted to give Tilly new playmate! Tilly is still an absolute delight; she is wonderful company and such a gentle dog. She loves her daily walks on Wimbledon Common and as she has got older she has decided that she doesn’t have to say ‘hello’ to every golfer that she meets! She is still amazing with her recall and its incredible to watch her sniff out a rabbit or squirrel and then shoot off into the woods to try and find them. One of her favourite past times is retrieving her ball from piles of leaves in the woods. Tilly is a real lap dog and loves nothing more than a cuddle. So far she doesn’t seem interested in the Christmas tree, only stealing logs that we use for the fire. She has found her way upstairs at night time which we really don’t mind, the foxes would often wake her up at night, but now she’s with us she sleeps all night until we get up in the morning. Jane, I remember reading on your website about a toothpaste you were about to use on your dogs. Would you recommend it and if so could you send me the name please? Wishing you all a wonderful Christmas at Pound lane. With love Karen x" Thanks Karen, lovely to hear from you. The toothpaste I use for the dogs is Logic Oral Hygeine Gel - CEVA Animal Health Care | Logic For Pets My vet recommended it and I have found it easy to use and you can see results after a couple uses where there is tartar build up. The dogs all like the taste of it, which helps when using this type of product.
Tilly's sister Blottie likes carrying logs around, which comes from Dad Henry. Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from us all at Poundlane. Jane x |
