Got back from the firework display at Athrington, a little village about four miles from us. That does a lovely bonfire and fireworks display for Guy Fawkes each year. Had a lovely cup of homemade Butternut Squash soup. David and me got to chat to friends old and new, and the children got to run around with their friends from school for a couple hours in the dark. The photo is Florrie, our oldest daughter after coming back from the firework display and with the heat of the fire and the softness of the dogs fell fast asleep. Not often I catch the three boys together in a photo. "If you lie down with dogs, beware! You may not get up for a while."

“The greatest pleasure of a dog is that you may make a fool of yourself with him, and not only will he not scold you,but he will make a fool of himself, too.”
