Milking this morning and Steve, who I milk for arrived in the milking parlour and ran through cows he wanted me to keep back and told me about 664 who was freshly calved. After two hours struggling to then finally get her backward dead calf off the day before, he then looked down to see a calf with a severely deformed head and front legs. Over the years you do see deformed calves, but I have not seen what he showed me from photos he had took and neither had he. Hence why he took photos and asked his vet about the deformity. The vet told him that it was a Bulldog calf.
Nearly forgot to say that 664 the mother of the calf born deformed and dead, is well. She came in the parlour this morning and eat up all her cake. It was her fourth calf. All her other calves were born alive and healthy.
