Not that you might think I'm a bit obsessed by Smudge's pups, I thought I would load up a few more photos of day one in the whelping box with Smudge's litter of pups. Really enjoying looking at all the different patternation of their coats. Noting the longer noses, seemingly longer necks and the ears are maybe not so rounded as a pure Cavalier pups, at this stage. Will be really interesting watching these pups grow. Some of their noses have already started to pigment. For those who might be wondering what the black bits are that you see on the bellies of the pups. That is their umbilical cord drying up and within the first few days of being born, should drop off.
