Pups growing, pups leaving, sap rising, Henry sleeping and just Millie

The school summer holidays are nearly at an end, so I will hope to have more time to blog in a weeks time. My husband took this last week off work , which is the first whole week he has taken for four years and after us decorating our childrens bedrooms and putting together six beds, a set of draws and wardrobe he might be glad to get back to work.
Ysobel's Cavapoo pups are now over four weeks old and fully mobile. Two of the boys are named being Bailey wearing a blue camouflage collar and Dexter wearing a green stripey collar. Titch is wearing a blue stripey collar and the only girl has of course a pink collar.

Our son Alfie took this short video of mum arriving as pup's nearly breach the hold. The whelping box has now been removed and the pups have more room to roam. They are now fully mobile and once the last pup from Dolly's litter leaves on Wednesday we will open the pen up to the patio doors so they can start wondering outdoors. 

Last weekend saw four of Dolly's pups leave us.
On the Saturday Pippa  joined the Sutton family and on first report back is doing well.Then Darcey left us to join the Lorenz family and reports are that she is settling in well.
On the bank holiday Monday Dotty went off with her new family the Napper's and first report was good and then last night this report came in.

I'm sure things are still pretty busy for you but I just thought I'd let you know that Dotty has slowed us all down to enjoy lots of special moments with our gorgeous pup! She has not been phased by anything so far-she's sooo chilled, she prefers to be by your feet rather than on your lap, she loves digging and she will eat anything (including snails, plants and stones)! -we re working on that and don't leave her alone outside at all! She has already worked out the toilet thing and will stand at the door and make a little noise, and if let out 'performs'-she hasn't had any accidents yesterday or today! She's also now sleeping soundly in her crate for about 7hrs-tho she's beside herself to see us in the morning! She is so wonderful and has already transformed our lives-thank you!

Thanks Caroline for this. Its hard to explain what a dog brings into your life and knowing what you have been through with one of your children having a phobia of dogs and the work you have put into  getting to this stage of being able to bring a dog into your family, reading your email is what its all about for me.
Next on that Monday we had Sasha leave us to join the Cook family. Although the Cook family had been in touch with me a long time before Sasha was born until Monday we had never met. Most people visit me before picking their pup up but occasionally things transpire that a visit can not be made before the puppy is ready to leave. So I'm always a little concerned when this happens, not so much that they won't like the puppy, more I won't like them to have the puppy but on meeting them that fear was soon put to rest as I watched Mr Cook scoop Sasha up and hold her to his face and he closed his eyes and in that moment I knew Sasha was going to the right home and a home that had been waiting a while for her arrival. The first report back from the Cook household  suggests she is very much at home already.

Sasha is already the centre of the family.  She is very energetic and curious about everything and everybody.  The older of my two grandchildren ((almost 5) is particularly taken by her and they spend much time and energy and loving together.  Indeed, hard to find time and opportunity for training!She whimpered the first  middle of the night (she sleeps downstairs, we upstairs) but not last night.  Does not eat anything like 120 grammes a day, but is far from fading away.Altogether a great prize for the 3 adults in the house and the two children

Yesterday  Darcy 2 left to join the Blunden family and we hope all is going well. We are now down to two pups from Dolly's litter being Treacle who we are keeping and Molly who on the 4th September will be flying out to Jersey on the lap of the Cutland family.
Dex who was the first pup to leave of Dolly's litter and the only boy is doing really well and will get the photo's on here that you sent me Debi, thanks.

A funny video taken by our son Bert of Darcy 2, Molly and Treacle. They had climbed up onto the  furniture flatpacked that we had arrive for the children's bedrooms and Darcy 2 and Molly climb down with care and then watch Treacle just launch herself with gay abandon. Some breeders would have kittens to see a puppy do this but I'm not one to wrap them in cotton wool and believe a puppy needs to be active and robust within reason. Treacle went and jumped off twice more like that from the boxes, so I guess we have kept the nutter of the litter. Lol.

Could not do a blog without a bit of Henry and this is him after a walk down along the river and a lot of the time in it. He loves to swim, unfortunately forgot the camera whilst at the river but got to film the aftermath of going to the river.

The sap is rising at Poundlane at the moment with three bitches on heat. Jessica, Belle and Primrose have all come on heat together, but we are not breeding any of these girls this time, so we have three boys that are a little distracted at the moment and its a bit of a juggling act with all the dogs making sure there's no clandestine meetings.
I'm getting a lot of emails at the moment and will hope to catch up in the next few weeks when the children are back at school but can I say, "We are not taking any one on waiting lists for 2014 yet and will not open waiting lists again until the beginning of 2014. Happy to answer questions even if you are not getting a puppy from us and will not take visitors until we open waiting lists again."
